Bike Position and Pedalling Efficiency Analysis
Friday, 05 June 2009 15:42

Optimising your bike set up and your position on the bike are fundamental ways to ensure that your hard work is converted into forward motion. At the Cassonz Performance Coaching lab we can analyse your bike set up and your position on the bike to find your best potential for effective power delivery and aerodynamics. The bike set up process always goes hand-in-hand with looking at your pedalling efficiency, not least because a poor set up can compromise pedalling efficiency.

The importance of pedalling efficiency is often underestimated by the novice cyclist or triathlete, and if you have come to accept the notion that improved pedalling efficiency is a means towards better cycling performance then you probably find yourself wondering how to master the skills or perhaps more importantly how to measure your progress.

Pedalling efficiently can be a difficult skill to master without the assistance of a coach and some technology, and that's where we can help.

A good coach can explain the techniques and give you tips on how to improve your feel for pedalling efficiency - but in order to establish a baseline against which you can gauge progress you need a coach and some sophisticated technological support; such as the SpinScan ™ software and CompuTrainer ™ systems we use at the Cassonz Performance Coaching lab.

The same technology is put to good use during the bike set up process too, because we can see realtime bio-feedback on how the bike and positional adjustments have improved a component of your cycling performance.
