Local Inspiration: Mel Ryding

Melanie Ryding continues to live her inspirational quest for self fulfilment and achievement through triathlon in 2010.

And now, if you don't already know her story; endearingly dubbed "Pie Athlete to Triathlete" by the Daily Star newspaper last year, you can catch up via her website:

As triathlon continues to grow in the UK it is getting tougher and tougher to earn a place on the GB age group squad. To her credit Mel has trained hard and raced well again this year, rising with the standards and retaining her position in the Female 35-39 squad against some tough competition.

Mel will be representing GB at the Triathlon World Championships in Budapest in September and at the European Championships in Ponteverde, Spain June 2011.

Best of luck Mel and keep up the hard work.
